SPRINGFIELD, MO — The Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s annual Harvest Fest opens Saturday, Oct. 7, and Sunday, Oct. 8, kicking off four weekends of fall-themed family fun at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park, 3825 W. Farm Road 146, just west of Springfield.

The festival takes place Saturdays, 11 a.m.- 6 p.m., and Sundays, 12-6 p.m., Oct. 7-8 through Oct. 28-29.

New this year: barnyard races, described as a human hamster wheel on tracks. Guests may also explore the corn maze, bounce on inflatables, take guided pony rides, and tour around the park on hayrides and the cow train. Parks concessions sell kettle corn, lemonade, ice cream and other snacks.

Admission to Harvest Fest is free, but there is a fee for most activities.

Pick your own pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch, open during Harvest Fest as well as Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., through Oct. 29. Pumpkins are sold by weight, while supplies last.
