SPRINGFIELD, MO — Due to the National Weather Service’s Winter Storm Warning, the Springfield-Greene County Park Board will close all staffed facilities at 8 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, Jan. 24. This includes all family centers, Cooper Tennis Complex, Fieldhouse Sportscenter, O’Reilly-Tefft Gymnasium and other locations.

Staffed facilities are scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25. The delayed morning opening will give Park Operations staff more time to clear snow from parking lots and sidewalks, to help insure patron safety.

All classes and programs taking place before after 8 p.m. tonight and before 8 a.m. tomorrow are canceled.

Two facilities will not follow this schedule:

  • Jordan Valley Ice Park will follow its regular schedule tonight and tomorrow.
  • If school is canceled at Springfield Public Schools, SPARC will open its Snow Day Camp program at Oak Grove Community Center Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.

Additional Park Board schedule changes, closures or cancellations will be posted on the Park Board’s Facebook page.

For media inquiries, contact Jenny Fillmer Edwards, Public Information Administrator for the Springfield-Greene County Park Board, at 417-224-5510 (mobile).
