SPRINGFIELD, MO – Ten additional park pavilions will resume rentals Friday, June 12, following closures this spring related to COVID-19 prevention. Capacity is limited at each pavilion.
Starting June 12, park pavilion rentals are available at Chesterfield, Dan Kinney, Doling, Fassnight, Living Memorial, Phelps Grove, Ritter Springs, Sequiota, Silver Springs and Smith parks. Rentals at these locations for the month of June had previously been canceled, due to staffing levels.
These locations will be added to the list of pavilions already open for rentals: Dickerson Park Zoo, Lake Springfield Park (Northwoods Pavilion), and Springfield Botanical Gardens (Nathanael Greene Pavilion and Japanese Garden Pavilion) and the Jordan Valley Park Patio.
Maximum capacity at each pavilion is reduced at least through July 23, to allow physical distancing and per Springfield COVID-19 prevention orders. Special requests, such as bounce houses, may be limited. Call for details.
Rentals are recommended for guaranteed use of a pavilion without sharing with another party, regardless of size.
Pavilion reopening is based on parks staff availability to provide restroom cleaning and disinfection at triple the normal frequency, due to COVID-19 prevention. The increased disinfection schedule means not all pavilion restrooms will reopen at once. Additional pavilion locations may be added to the rental list later this summer, based on hiring additional staff.
Most pavilion rentals start at $50/four hours. Details are at ParkBoard.org/Rentals.

All visitors to any pavilion, park or trail are asked to keep a minimum six-foot distance from others, make sure they wash their hands frequently, avoid touching their faces, cover any coughs or sneezes, and please stay home if they are feeling any symptoms of illness. Restrooms and drinking fountains may be unavailable. Bring your own water bottle.
