Winter Garden

For all-year enjoyment, the Botanical Center includes a Winter Garden easily accessible near the Botanical Center even if conditions are snowy. Colorful surprises are on view from December through April.

Plantings include Japanese Ornamental Flowering Apricot, Winter Honeysuckle and Witchazel. Berries and bright colored stems lend a welcome pop of color during gray months.

It also helps gardeners realize that their gardens don’t have to be dormant during the winter. And it’s among the first to show the signs of spring when its swaths of pink and white stand out in view from vantages across the park.
