1. Updated Aquatics Hours

    Indoor aquatics at Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers reopen Saturday, May 23, following nine weeks of closure due to COVID-19 prevention. Indoor pools will follow a modified schedule, based on current availability of certified lifeguards on staff. 

    Capacity is limited at both pools, according to city orders. No shared pool equipment is provided, like kickboards, noodles and weights. Swimmers may bring their own equipment, but may not share equipment with others. Lap lane swimming is limited to one person per pal pane, unless that person shares a lane with someone in their household. Swim lessons, water aerobics, swim team and other aquatics programs, including birthday parties, are not currently available. The whirlpool spa is also currently closed.

    Swimmers are advised to keep a minimum six-foot distance from others in the pool and on the deck, make sure they wash their hands before and after visiting, avoid touching their faces, cover any coughs or sneezes, and please stay home if they are feeling any symptoms of illness.

    Starting Saturday, May 23, the schedule at both Chesterfield and Doling indoor aquatics is:
    Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon: Adults only swim.
    Saturday, Noon-3:30 p.m.: All ages open swim.
    Sunday, noon-2:30 p.m.: All ages open swim.
    Monday-Friday, 7:15-11 a.m.: Adults only swim.
    Monday-Friday, 1-5 p.m.: All ages open swim.

Learn to Swim Header

Designed and accredited by the American Red Cross. Focuses on teaching swimming skills and water safety. Designed to accommodate all ages from infants with a parent to advanced swimmers.

Swim lessons take place at Fassnight Pool in the summer and Chesterfield and Doling Family Centers during the school year.

Additional Aquatic Programs

Homeschool Program


Aquatics class for home school students ages 5-14. For physical education credit or just to have fun and improve swimming skills. A great social networking opportunity! Will resume at a later date.

Swim Team Sting Rays


Be part of a team, compete in swim meets and make new friends. This dynamic 6-week series focuses on stroke development, fundamentals of turns and starts, fitness and having fun! Build confidence and skills for your swimming career.  Will resume at a later date.

Private Swimming Lesson Packages


Half-hour sessions of private swim lessons with an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. For all ages and all swimming abilities. Will resume at a later date.

Semi-Private Swimming Lesson Packages


Semi-private lessons available for two swimmers of similar skill levels. Participants must pair up before registering. Will resume at a later date.
