Leave a Gift in Your Will

If you don’t yet have a Will, this advice can help you in the process of making one. If you already have a Will, you can find out how to include a gift to the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.

Three simple steps to making or amending your will
  1. Start thinking about what you have – your estate and assets – and who you’d like to be your executor.
  2. Choose who you will remember in your will, including family, friends and the causes you care about.
  3. Decide who will write your will. We recommend using a will-writing professional to make sure everything is legal and valid.

Memorials in Parks

Remember your loved ones with a memorial bench in a park.

At Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park:

  • Inscribed brick pavers are available at the White Garden, Redbud Garden, Butterfly House and Rose Garden.
  • Steel tribute benches are available. Benches are 6 feet, commercial-grade, powder-coated steel with an inscription plate, installed on a concrete pad. Inscriptions may be up to 5 lines, 20 characters per line.
  • All memorials at this location are coordinated through Friends of the Garden. Call 417-874-2952 for details and arrangements.

At all other Parks locations:

  • All bench location and installation is coordinated through Parks Operations staff.
  • For more information, email Josh Curnutt, Park Operations Supervisor, or call 417-864-1049.
