Specialized programs are offered for individuals with disabilities to allow access to recreation for all abilities


  1. Accessible Recreation Drive-Thru Ceramics


    Drive-Thru Ceramics offers a safe and fun way to expand your creativity while staying safe in your own home! It's minimal interaction but maximum fun! We have ceramic projects that are ready to be your next masterpiece! There are a variety of project options - just call or email to schedule a pick-up time. Call when you arrive, and we will bring it out! Pick-up at the Northview Center

  2. Adaptive Tennis


    Cooper Tennis and the Park Board Accessible Recreation Division welcome you to Adaptive Tennis at Cooper Tennis Complex. Come have fun playing tennis with us! All equipment will be provided. Participants will learn basic tennis skills and games. No prior experience necessary. Certified tennis instructors wil lead the class along with volunteers. Register online or by calling Cooper Tennis Complex at 417-837-5800.

  3. Groovin' Abilities


    Come rock out with Jen Keet and Accessible Rec! GROOVE is a unique way to make dance easy, accessible, and fun for everyone! It's healthy movement for all - so, see you on the dance floor!

  4. Disc Golf


    Come out and see more beautiful parks while gaining a new skill with Accessible Recreation! Disc Golf Is a great way to stay active and enjoy the great outdoors! Classes will cover basics of the game including rules, short and long throws, and good form, all in a fun and supportive environment at Oak Grove Park. Call 837-5808 to register. Pre-registration is required.

  5. Accessible Rec Cycling Club - Fall


    A guided bike ride on Springfield Parks trails and Ozark Greenways. Some accessible bikes available or bring your own. Registration required. Call for details.

  6. Fall Bowling


    Enjoy bowling while you meet new friends at Park Board Bowling! This program consists of three 4-week sessions for bowlers ages 16 years and up with a disability. Download PDF registration form. Register by Wednesday prior to each session start date.

  7. Bocce Tournament


    Warm up your throwing arm and come enjoy the fall weather with an Accessible Recreation Bocce Tournament! Meet inside Northview, tournament held at the Doling Bocce Courts.

  8. F.A.S.T. - Halloween BINGO


    F.A.S.T.: Fun Accessible Social Time! Join us for a special Halloween themed night of bingo! Costumes welcomed, registration required. Dinner includes pizza and salad.
