| in Close Memorial Park | The Butterfly House located in Close Memorial Park, next to the Ornamental Grass Garden is staffed by the Friends of the Gardens Volunteers. They are open on weekends, Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Entrance to the Butterfly House is free, but donations are appreciated! Special guided programs and tours can be arranged through the botanical center for $2.00/person. Schedule a tour by contacting the Botanical Center at 417-891-1515. The season opens May 15th and closes September 30th.The house is screened in and butterflies can be viewed from outside during non-business hours. |

New 12,700-square-foot facility is set into a hillside in the 55-acre Close Memorial Park, adjoining Nathanael Greene Park. The Center contains classroom, meeting, rental and exhibit space, and elevated plaza and roof garden, gift shop, library and office space. A number of classes, workshops, festivals, exhibits and other opportunities are available year-round.

The Butterfly House located in Close Memorial Park, next to the Ornamental Grass Garden is staffed by the Friends of the Gardens Volunteers. They are open on weekends, Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Entrance to the Butterfly House is free, but donations are appreciated! Special guided programs and tours can be arranged through the botanical center for $2.00/person. Schedule a tour by contacting the Botanical Center at 417-891-1515. The season opens May 15th and closes September 30th.The house is screened in and butterflies can be viewed from outside during non-business hours.

The Betty and Bobby Allison Miracle League Ball Field is a specially equipped, custom designed field with a cushioned synthetic turf that allows players utilizing wheel chairs and walkers to glide unrestricted without fear of injury. The Gray/Campbell Farmstead is the oldest house in Springfield, Mo. It is Located in the Nathanael Greene Park on South Scenic. Along with the oldest house in Springfield, circa 1856, there is a log kitchen, a two crib barn, and a log granary.
Located northeast of Springfield on Valley Water Mill Road, the park features a one-mile hiking trail around the lake and other in-park trail, water-and-stream side learning stations, outdoor classroom pavilion, fishing piers, maintenance center and future Watershed Center of the Ozarks.
