Youth Programs-SPARC

SPARC is a partnership between the Springfield-Greene County Park Board and Springfield Public Schools, promoting opportunities for youth and families through after-school and recreational enrichment, summer camps, special outings, and increased availability of joint school-park facilities. SPARC also is partners with other various organizations including St. John's Sports Medicine and the Springfield Regional Arts Council.

Parents Night Out - Program offers parents a night off while SPARC staff keeps your children busy and safe with organized activities.
Locations: Truman, Bingham, McBride, Wanda Gray, McGregor, and Bissett Elementary Schools
Ages: K-5th grade
Dates: One Friday night per month 7-10 p.m. - call for dates.
Fee: $3 one child, $5 two children, $7 three children
Parents Night Out "Go Green Party" - Let SPARC Staff entertain your child with paizza, games, crafts, and a movie while you get the night off! We will be learning all about the importance of recycling!
Locations: Truman Elementary School
Ages: K-5th grade
Dates: Friday, March 14, 5:00-5:45 p.m. drop offl; 8:00-10:00 p.m. movie/pick up
Fee: $8 one child, $15 two childrens, $22 three children

School's Out Field Trips - Children enjoy field trips, fun activities when school is not in session.
Locations: McBride, Truman, Sequiota, McGregor, Weaver, Bissett, and Westport Elementary Schools and Oak Grove Community Center
Ages: K-5th grade
Dates: Monday-Friday, March 17-21
Fee: $12.00/day 1 child; $10.00/day 2nd child

Cooking Club - Each participant will create a recipe book to share with friends and family!
Locations: Sequiota Elementary School
Ages: K-5th grade
Dates: Thursdays, March 27 - May 1, 3:45-4:45 p.m.
Fees: $24/student/6-week session Limit first 12 students.

Lego Club - Round Two

Ages: Students
Dates: Thursdays, March 27 - May 1, 3:45-4:45 p.m.
Fees: $24/student/6-week session Limit first 25 students.

Early Release Program - An opportunity for children to participate in organized activities when school is released early.
Locations: McBride, Truman, Sequiota, McGregor, Weaver, Bissett, and Westport Elementary Schools.
Ages: K-5th grade
Dates: Tuesday, Friday, April 25
Fees: $8/child
Snow Day Program - School is cancelled due to snow and you have to work. Pre-register for this program so you are not left out in the cold. Call for details: Oak Grove Community Center 891-1635 or 837-5737.

Fees: $12/day per child
Martial Arts - Class taught by Ozarks Martial Arts. Program offers self defense, respect, confidence, balance, stamina, flexibility. For more information call Heather Ward or SPARC office 837-5737. Register by February 15.

Dates: February 19 - April 3
Fees: $45/student/6 week session first-time registration, renewal $20/session
Video Game Club - Play the latest Nintendo Wii games in a fun safe environment with your friends!
Locations: Sequiota Elementary School
Ages: Students
Dates: Mondays, March 24 - April 28
Fees: $24/student/6-week session Limit first 12 students.
