Level 1 |
4 years and up |
Water adjustment. Beginning breath control. Supported floating and kicking on front and back. Introduction to front crawl arm action. Personal safety and rescue skills. |
Level 2 |
Passed Level 1 or can do supported float on stomach with face in water and supported float on back. |
Turning over front to back and back to front and changing direction. Floating on front and back for 5 seconds. Combined stroke on front and back for 5 yards. Underwater swimming. Treading in chest-deep water. Personal safety. |
Level 3 |
Passed Level 2 or can float on front and back unassisted 5 seconds and swim on front and back 15 feet. |
Front and back crawl for 15 yeards and elementary backstroke and butterfly kick. Treading in deep water for 30 seconds. Rotary breathing. Diving from the side of the pool. Self rescue skills. |
Level 4 |
Passed Level 3 or can do 15 yards of front and back crawl with rhythmic breathing and tread in deep water for 30 seconds. |
Front and back crawl for 25 yards. Breaststroke, butterfly and elementary backstroke for 15 yards. Tread in deep water for 1 minute. Diving from the side of the pool. |
Level 5 |
Passed Level 4 or can do front and back crawl for 25 yards. Breaststroke, butterfly and elementary backstroke for 15 yards. |
Front and back crawl 50 yards. Breaststroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke and sidestroke for 25 yards. Flip turns on front and back. Tread in deep water for 2 minutes. Diving safely and progression from board. |
