The Park Board is hiring certified lifeguards

Lifeguard training is offered for anyone ages 15 and older who is interested in becoming an American Red Cross Lifeguard. Emphasis is on earning certifications for American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED Essentials, Preventing Disease Transmission and Water Park Lifeguarding. Additionally, students participate in training in customer service, lifeguard skills, conflict resolution and conditioning, as well as complete swimming assignments and lifeguard skills tests. Indoor Pool Hours


Indoor pools are open year-round. During Open Swim hours, water features will be turned on. Classes and programs may also be held during this time which may affect the use of features by guests. During Guaranteed Lap Swim hours, lap lanes will be designated for lap swim only. Please use proper swim etiquette. Aquatics Programs


Swim Lessons/Swim Teams


Registrations must be received no later
than the Friday before the session begins by 12 p.m. (noon). Cancellations will be made at that time if there is low enrollment. 

General Pool Rules


  • All visitors to indoor pools must also follow the Park Board’s Family Center rules, which require children 11 and under to be accompanied by an adult at the facility. Chesterfield Family Center Rules  Doling Family Center Rules
  • Children 8 years of age and under must be accompanied and directly supervised by a person 16 years of age or older, wearing a swimsuit. Weak/non-swimmers must be accompanied in the water
  • Running, horseplay, and profanity are not allowed in or around the pool area.
  • Diving is allowed off of the diving boards only.
  • No prolonged or repeated breath holding.
  • Flotation devices, including life jackets, may only be used when a parent or guardian is in the water, directly and attentively supervising the child.
  • Appropriate swimwear is required for use of the pool, including swim diapers for all non-toilet trained guests. Any attire with offensive language or symbols is prohibited.
  • Glass containers, tobacco, alcohol, and weapons are prohibited. Guests who are under the influence of alcohol will be asked to leave without refund.
  • Persons with an open wound, a rash, diarrhea, or an infectious communicable disease, will not be admitted into the pool.
  • The Springfield Greene-County Park Board is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
  • Certified lifeguards are on duty for your safety. Please obey lifeguards at all times. The aquatics division reserves the right to modify these rules at any time to ensure order and safety.

Wading Pool Rules


  • All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by a person 16 years of age or older, wearing a swimsuit. There must be at least one adult for every four children in your party.
  • Running, horseplay, and profanity are not allowed in or around the pool area.
  • Certified lifeguards are on duty for your safety. Please obey lifeguards at all times. The aquatics division reserves the right to modify these rules at any time to ensure order and safety.

Waterslide Rules


  • Riders must remain feet first. No stopping or rotating in the slide.
  • No shirts, goggles, or flotation devices. Clothing with buttons or zippers is prohibited.
  • Riders must follow additional posted manufacturer's guidelines at each facility.

Diving Board Rules


  • Diving boards shall be used by strong swimmers only. A swim test may be required.
  • This area is restricted to diving only when boards are open for use.
  • One person on a diving board at a time. Divers shall wait to dive until previous diver exits the diving area.
  • Dive or jump forward; do not dive off the side of the board.
  • Exit the water immediately using the closest ladder, or by swimming under the rope.
  • Shirts, flotation devices, and goggles are prohibited. The Aquatics Staff has the right to prohibit any dive that seems too dangerous to perform.
