sparc summer camps

Come join us for an action-packed summer full of fun, excitement, and adventure.  Our summer programs are designed to empower youth to develop independence, self-esteem, and new friendships. Through crafts, games, and outdoor adventures, team building, and more, your child will have an unforgettable summer full of new experiences and endless fun.

Wilson's Creek Intermediate School (4035 W. Waver Rd.)
Pershing Elementary School (2120 S. Ventura Ave.)
Ages: 5-12
Dates: Weekdays, May 22*-August 11
*Start date is subject to change based on SPS calendar
Time: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
Fee: $90 per week
Camp Days - Monday
Campers will build new friendships, learn a new sport, explore their creative side and so much more
Swim Days - Tuesday & Thursday
Twice a week campers will spend the afternoon splashing around in our local pools
Field Trips - Wednesday
Each week campers will visit fun-filled area attractions to add a little extra adventure to their summer
Park Days - Friday
Campers will get to experience the many great parks that Springfield has to offer
Shindigs - Friday
The week ends with fun theme based activities. Campers and staff are encouraged to dress up

Ritter Springs Day Camp is an outdoor focused summer program located in the 245-acre park just 6 miles north of Springfield. Campers will get to make new friends, and hang out with old ones, while participating in fun outdoor activities. Activities include archery, canoeing, fishing, caving, and creek walking along with traditional SPARC camp activities including field trips, crafts, games, and more! SPARC provides 3 convenient locations around Springfield to transport your child to and from camp. Your child will have an unforgettable summer learning about nature, getting dirty, and exploring the outdoors at Ritter Springs Day Camp.

Pickup/Drop Off Locations:
Weaver Elementary (1461 N. Douglas Ave.)
Oak Grove Community Center (1538 S. Grove Ave.)

Does your child think they are "too old" for day camps? Summer Quest is designed specifically for the young adult where campers will have an unforgettable summer hanging out with their friends in a safe and structured environment. Campers will make lasting memories with games, art projects, and extensive field trips designed for the young adult. Summer Quest is focused on developing your tween or teen with challenging activities, teambuilding, character development, and leadership skills.

Ages: 11-14
Dates: Weekdays, May 22*-August 11

Time: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
Fee: $100 per week

Enrolled in Springfield Public School's Summer Explore program? Join us before and after the program for a fun camp like experience including games, making crafts, playing sports, team building, and so much more!

Locations: Field, Fremont*, Harrison, Truman, Carver (After Only)
*Watkins students will be bussed daily before and after school to Fremont Elementary
Dates: Weekdays, June 1*-July 28
*Start date subject to change based on SPS calendar
Times: 6:30 a.m.- Explore starts, and Explore ends - 6 p.m.
Fee: Before Explore - $20 per week
Reduced rate* - $5 per week
After Explore - $40 per week
Reduced rate* - $15 per week
*Proof of Free/Reduced lunch status is required at time of registration

What is Sparc

 SPARC (Schools, Parks are Reaching Communities) is a partnership between Springfield Public Schools and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board dedicated to providing safe, fun, and affordable opportunities for youth and families.
