21st Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk

Now that autumn is officially here, Springfield’s favorite Thanksgiving tradition is just around the corner.

Early Bird Registration is now open for the 21st Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk, held Thanksgiving Day, Thursday Nov. 26, 8 a.m. in downtown Springfield.

Turkey Trot is Springfield’s largest timed 5K run/walk of the year and the largest Thanksgiving Day 5K in Missouri, attracting 7,000-9,000 participants a year. Proceeds from the event benefit the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Scholarship Fund and the Developmental Center of the Ozarks. Turkey Trot also serves as the largest one-day food drive for Ozarks Food Harvest, which collects about 7,000 pounds of food at the event each year.

Turkey Trot is held rain, snow or shine.

Participants may register for one of four race categories, each with staggered start times: Elite, Runner, Walker/Family or Pet.

No matter which race category, participants’ individual race times begin when they cross the starting line and end at the finish line.
